ABOUT ME

My father came to Vernon in 1925 from Victoria BC where his father had a job with Vernon orchards . Eventually my father moved to Lumby where he owned and operated a Nap's cafe which overtime became Naps laundromat and dry cleaners. In all he was in business for 50 years.

As far as pets go my number one pet is my dog "Obbie" she's been with me now for 14 years and lest we forget my flock of laying hens. LOL

I have been licenced for real estate since November 2005.

I was influenced by a very successful businessman from Vernon to make a career change and become a realtor.

Work experience as a young man i did a number of jobs which including working in the forest industry including the "bush" i would say a mish mash of different employment opportunities. At 24 years of age to help facilitate my parents retirement i ran the Laundromat and drycleaning business until 1992 at which time I took a position with the Pacific Western Brewing Company in management and over saw a territory which included the whole Okanagan Valley, Columbia Kootnays and Kamloops areas. Unfortunately this position often took me away from my wife and children at the time.

I was born in the Vernon Jubilee hospital in February 1961 and was raised downtown Lumby when lumby was in its "hay day" shall we say. Back when there was five sawmills with beehive burners and more employment and industry than could be imagined.

I grew up amongst our business customers as we lived in the same building that my father operated his business out of.

As a child I grew up doing many varied activities from fishing, hiking, forts on the hills sides that are now subdivisions full of homes that I list and sell lol too minor hockey and ball. My parents even though they were always busy with the business somehow to get us into sports and other activities. Also my parents were at times pretty heavily involved in the workings of the community itself. the one thing that was so prevalent at the time was that my parents and a lot of members of the community helped so many people out in times of need.

I strongly believe that a huge part of how i live my life was so strongly influenced from watching how my parents lived their lives especially the work ethic they both had after all the family business was open 7 days a week from 7 am to 11 pm. Somehow I strongly believe that this is how I was able to develop my work ethics today. Real estate is not a business for the faint of heart!

In the past have been a member of the volunteer fire dept., on ski patrol at Silver Star mountain resort , the president of the chamber of commerce, committee member of Fest and many other community groups. I've always taken an active role in the Realtors food bank drive in the fall.

My favorite charity is the SPCA followed by the food bank and I contribute to Easter Seals regularly and as i am a cancer survivor I always find a way to contribute to the Cancer Society.

Due to the highly diversified geographic region that we live in... the North Okanagan I tend to find myself showing a house in the morning and on a piece of hillside acreage in the afternoon with mud on my dress shoes and then discussing court ordered sales or foreclosures later that day with lawyers from Vancouver. Because of these tendencies I have become well versed in many aspects and different varieties of what's involved in the basic workings of real estate transactions therefore I am and have been able to gain large amount of insight and knowledge on the different types of transactions that take place in rural and semi rural and city environments market places from the workings of septic systems types required for different locations, general construction, wells, setbacks from streams and bodies of water to building locations basically a whole plethora of different common sense things that allow me to help and advise clients on which direction they should go or not go. Having been able to have the privilege of gaining so much knowledge has enabled me to assist my clients in so many ways.
